Jan 03, 2017 Q: I need to replace my 2008 MacBook Pro, which has a 1TB hard drive. But none of the new MacBook Pro models offer a hard drive option, and it would cost a lot to get the same amount of storage on. Apple’s software platforms — iOS ®, macOS ®, watchOS ® and tvOS ® — provide seamless experiences across all Apple devices and breakthrough services including the App Store ®, Apple Music ®, Apple Pay ® and iCloud ®.

• A new problem is coming to light with Apple’s new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air machines. Users are reporting compatibility issues with USB 2.0 devices.
• I'm just trying to get a clear answer, if possible. My current Macbook is running El Capitan and iTunes. I have a large iTunes library stored on an external drive. Some was purchased through iTunes, some amazon, some other 3rd parties, and some imported from my personal CD collection. The new macbook pro I'm planning on buying is running.

If you update your Mac to macOS Catalina or later, you can access your iTunes media library in the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, Apple Books app, and Apple Podcasts app. To manually back up, restore, or sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, use Finder.

If you can’t update to the latest version of macOS

You can update to the latest version of iTunes (up to iTunes 12.8).

1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
2. Click Updates at the top of the App Store window.
3. If any iTunes updates are available, click Install.

On your PC

If you don't have iTunes installed on your computer, download iTunes from the Microsoft Store (Windows 10). You can also download the latest version of iTunes from Apple's website.

Depending on the version of iTunes that you have, here are a few ways to update.

If you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store

Versions of iTunes from the Microsoft Store update automatically when new versions are released.

You can also check for updates through the Microsoft Store.

If you downloaded iTunes from Apple's website

1. Open iTunes.
2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates.
3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.
